Reddit attracts autistic people, and autistic people tend to think more in terms of absolutes and to have strong emotional reactions to things they don’t agree with. 408 more repliesaid it great but left out an important piece. You have people, mostly far right wingers, calling themselves Centrist or Libertarian because they know women refuse to even look at them, let alone date. So it’s a case of a lot of bad apples spoiling the My pet krampus shirt What’s more,I will buy this bunch. Just as black is the new orange, or 30 is the new 20, Centrism is just the new Far Right. I’m fine with someone falling somewhere in the middle on the political spectrum, but I don’t like centrism for centrism’s sake. Some issues aren’t “both sides are equally right” issues, sometimes one is just more right than the other. There are as many answers as there are people with differing political views. I’ll point out two main resentments people have towards people who call themselves “centrist”: Many people use the My pet krampus shirt What’s more,I will buy this label of “centrist” as a cop-out to engaging in taking a stand on an issue, or use it to defend being ignorant. Centrists often want to point out that “both sides are wrong” without really considering how badly one side is wrong vs. the other on a particular issue, and they often say things like “it’s complicated” but don’t back up their stance with nuance. It isn’t really true centrism, but a lot of people who want to feel superior, self-righteous, avoid uncomfortable dialogue, or educating themselves brand themselves as centrists. This is something that is upsetting to people who a passionate about some issue, as well as to people with strong ideological convictions.
