Volunteering can be fun if you are gonna do it anyways. Usually free drinks and food are involved. Just for 2 hours or what not. Volunteering is what people used to do when work didn’t take away all of their free time and when their wages paid for both the Mountain monsters shirt What’s more,I will buy this power bill and the grocery bill. I run a small gaming convention (300 attendees or so, and the event is older than I am); ticket costs go almost exclusively to paying for the venue. I don’t draw a check, and neither does anyone else who volunteers. There’s no harm is asking for help, as long as you have skin in the game, and aren’t making a profit. Can’t speak to the specifics of this situation, though. Friends of mine are organizing a festival aswel. I volunteer there aswel with setting everything up. My brother (a cop) helped with security the first 2 years as a volunteer but nowadays they are big enough to hire a company for that. Is this a country wide organisation or a local group. I volunteer for a non profit, we do not make a ton of cash, and when we do an event any donations we accept from organisers usually don’t cover all the costs involved. After bills, insurance etc and doing fundraisers 2 times a month, we won’t make enough to even pay a months wages for one person. Not every case requiring volunteers can afford staff. They should do a fundraiser to pay for the security though, and security is definitely not something that should be volunteered, that shit needs to be paid and insured. Get 30 people to volunteer, fill every possible position and then some, fill the organizers with confidence that everything will be a success and run smoothly. The day of, don’t have anyone show up, let the festival descend into chaos.

Nah, and especially not free security. Y’all want me to potentially get in a scrap in you behalf? You will be paying me at least $100/hour, or you can do it yourself. At least he’s being upfront. I did this for a friend saying he would pay 25$ and I didn’t get paid and was told I could use it as experience for my resume. In my town we have a music festival that last the Mountain monsters shirt What’s more,I will buy this entire week and covers most of the town(small town), and they do this shit every time. Like over half the people working are teenage volunteers that only do it for free tickets and bail as soon as their concert is over. And every year the arrangers complain that they get less and less every year and more people bail every year. Hmmm… i wonder why
