Serious. It is so clear that they colluded to claim that. They probably walked out, and somebody said, “if we all claim we thought a quarter after was 25 minutes, none of us can get in trouble for being late.” I met a couple of high school graduates twenty years ago who thought a quarter after was 25. I was speechless. HOW? Your students are trolling you. They know the Motor Harley Davidson Clothes Freddie Mercury Signature Shirt in other words I will buy this stuff they did. Some of them could be idiots, but I refuse to believe that not one of them realized it’s wrong. They did, they just chose to shut up and have a laugh. Edit 3: I stand corrected. Not everyone knows this, either due to poor education or lack of effort. I just had a little faith that those college kids were ‘pranking’ their professors by showing up late. Someone somewhere will point out it’s wrong. They probably congregated and plotted to get a laugh out of it. Anyway, is the OP is a prof? He should give consequences. I should loosen my corset but kids these days don’t give a damn about punctuality.
