Ask your direct supervisor. My company does core hours that you decide works best and then they’re flexible when you need to deviate. I work 7am-3pm and eat at my desk, only take the Monopolizing Wins shirt in addition I really love this two 15 minutes breaks that are paid There are no “unspoken” rules when you have a contract. You live and work by the details of the contract. If they are asking or expecting you to work outside of the confines of their contract, they aren’t an employer you should want to work for. If they want certain things to be a requirement of the job, they can put it in the contract and compensate you properly. I’d probably keep my head down and get passed this probationary period.. then follow the contract to the letter. Work the hours you are contracted for but don’t jump up, right at leaving time. You don’t want to be known as a clock watcher. Also, if convenient, keep a daily log of what you did, just in case you need to account for your duties. Just a sentence or two. I do that, and like to have a record. I have weeks I am in 14 hour days for projects and others I work from home or 8. It really depends on workflow and tempo If you havent missed a meeting, havent been reprimanded for your schedule or no one has complained, and are able to complete your regular duties, then who cares what time time other people come and go.

For me when I first started I would come in at 9 and leave at 5 with no lunch in between. One of my managers reprimanded me for coming in at (and I shit you not) 9:02 one time. I’ve since moved on to different managers and with being with the Monopolizing Wins shirt in addition I really love this company for 8 years now I’ve set my hours to 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. At my company it was common for those who were working a hot job would work 50-60 hours or more, but those who had just completed one would work 30 or so; a kind of unofficial, uncounted PTO. I’d suggest you work 40 until the work catches up with you. There will be days in the future when you will, with fondness, look back on your present time.
