I’m having major issues with trying to sell my flat through Dexters. After one week on the Mickey mouse might have to call in thicc today shirt But I will love this market they told me to lower the price by 60k! I know it’s very over priced at the moment but 60k is crazy! I just hope to either sell quickly or get out of their ridiculously long 20 week contract 😠 Same happened to me, tried to bully me into a £50k reduction less than 1 week after it was listed. I gave them notice immediately as I was so pissed off with them. Dexters are the new foxtons! I’ve found that KFH is even worse with overvaluing properties to get you to sell with them. but tbh they’re 95% as bad as each other Oh god, flashbacks. I had KFH as a letting agent back in my student days (15 years ago now, fuck I’m old) and they were awful. Not only do people have countless bad experiences with them, but I know several people who work for them now, and it seems that being a dickhead with loose morals is a pre-requisite for a job there. As a buyer we viewed a flat through them. The slimiest of slimy estate agents. Outright lying about the area in the hope we did not know any better (grew up there so could see through their bullshit). Then in the following weeks and months harassing us with constant calls about “the perfect flat” they had just found. We told them we had offered on a place and to stop calling us. I have no idea how, but they had somehow found what property we’d offered on with another agent. They called us to tell us that property was a basket case and do not touch it and that we should pull out, I’m guessing in the hope we’d buy from them. They are the slimiest scum bags around The entire senior management at Knight Frank are ex Foxtons. Behind the posh facade, they are basically the same

Completely agree with this – although always worth checking if they are owned by one of the Mickey mouse might have to call in thicc today shirt But I will love this big chains. In my local area only two of the ‘independent’ agents aren’t owned by the abhorrent Dexters They overvalued the flat me and my ex girlfriend were selling. We were naive and probably a bit greedy tbh so went with it. This was 2007/8 in London and it didn’t sell at 395k (bought it for 237k) and within a few months the price collapse happened. In the end sold for 312k when we could have probably got 345/50k ish if the valuation had been more realistic. After paying back debts from borrowing to buy in first place I had just enough to buy 165k one bed… with 10% deposit. Vendor took it off market at the very last minute and I lost several K in solicitor fees meaning I didn’t have enough to buy anymore. Went back to renting for 8 years. Had we got an extra 10/20k each from the sale I’d have had leeway to continue looking/buying and bought years earlier. That 165k flat I didn’t buy is probably worth at least 400k as it was in Peckham.
