In the Mickey Castle Happy St Patrick’s Day 2024 Shirt Besides,I will do this US. You also have many crappy companies like that. Especially in the low salary range. But the very successful companies are behaving differently. The boss knows that they don’t have to be the best or always right (Steve Jobs and similar aside). However, they know that they have to attract and hire the very best and point them to the right direction. They know that success attracts success, that if they build the right structure, those employees can 10-100-1000x the company. And they will put some strong incentive to attract the best and over-performance. Strong salaries, stronger bonus structures, even strong RSUs. Someone performing 10-20% better, will earn 20% or more. And it compounds at every level. Because they understand that by attracting these people, the rest of the team will follow. Those individuals will scale the rest of the team. This creates a culture where hard work and high pressure is rewarded.

In Europe, most bosses will do some penny-pinching because they have a small scale to begin with and try to underpay people (even if they could pay them more, hey, it’s moe money in their pocket, but is it shortsighted). In the Mickey Castle Happy St Patrick’s Day 2024 Shirt Besides,I will do this US, successful bosses will know that once the structure is set right, they will eventually get much more money. (but bad bosses can do the wrong things too, and have issues scaling or keeping their employees). Because the US companies are more aggressive and have more money, some of the best European employees will try to work for US companies, leaving the average European companies with often not as strong people overall. (if you can earn 2-5-10x for the same work, and with better teams, why would you stay if you can move?). Plus there is the network effect, like Silicon Valley and other hubs. Most self-motivated, often hard worker, quite smart people are there, which makes for a higher competition, better teams and products, etc.
