My mum does this automatically. It’s just her standard response to this statement. No matter if it’s someone she knows or a complete stranger. Oh man, I make awkward jokes when I’m nervous but I’ve generally learned that they’re not appreciated by the Mermaid and alien we’re leaving the planet and you can’t come shirt and I will buy this gynaecological community. Haha I had a similar thing at the hospital getting my kidneys and liver scanned, I had to lie down on my side with my shirt off with my hand above my head, there was a nurse and technician doing the scan, I said while feeling embarrassed in a weird position half naked “paint me like one of your French ladies” they absolutely pissed themselves as did I, I know ya shouldn’t laugh at your own jokes but couldn’t help it
