I have two young kids, and while I’m currently 45-48 hrs/week, I could not comfortably sign up for 60 hrs/week with the Matty Chef Canada Matheson A Cook Book Tour 2018 Canada T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this commitments I have to my wife and kids. For 500k sure, but not from 100k to 200k, not right now. A lot of that depends on where your financial comfort level is at. If you’re currently at 90k and barely making bills, have no money to enjoy your free time off, can’t afford decent vacations, or are majorly lacking in any other financial area, then your work life balance is already off. It may be worth it to make the jump to extra hours. That being said, it will be far more difficult to go back down to the 90k range once you get used to the 200k range. On the other hand, if your 90k is fulfilling for you, to where you can do and accomplish what you want and still have something left for savings or investing, then there’s no need to wreck yourself with a new schedule where you won’t ever have time to use or enjoy the extra money. It’s all about perspective. I guarantee that there are plenty of people on this post that get bitter just reading it because both of those are so far out of the range they think they’ll ever achieve. There are probably others that think it doesn’t matter at that low of an income range – start asking questions at the 500k mark.

Take a good hard look at your lifestyle and try to choose a good direction for it. From describing your wanting to spend time with family and such, it sounds like you’ve already made up your mind about it. Let that guide your decision moving forward. Take the Matty Chef Canada Matheson A Cook Book Tour 2018 Canada T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this work/life balance. I left a position for an opportunity that didn’t pan out (layoff after 3 months) and even though I’m now at a company in a role making 30k more than my previous role and great bonuses, I’m working ridiculous hours, even though it’s from home, I can’t go to appointments, take time off/run errands/take a piss without someone messaging or asking where I am. Meetings put on last minute, meeting invites sent after hours for first thing in the morning, sales meeting scheduled then people asked to cancel their vacations to make the meetings. I literally can’t take my dogs to the park any more because I’m being bothered all the time, even when I finish my work: oh go help so & so. I see my husband for about an hour before he goes to bed because he gets up super early for work, so he goes to bed fairly early. I’m absolutely miserable and have been applying like crazy to get out of here. I just want to take my dogs to the park and go to CVS and see my husband for more than 30 minutes a day.
