I got a lot of hate in the Madness From Mad Hatter Alice Wonderland shirt it is in the first place but r/Kenya sub because folks there prefer some youtuber to drill wells for them than their politicians. Some people already wrote this, but believe it or not just because there’s no video about it rich folks still donate to (local) ngos once in a while It was noted in the 19th century that small African communities a certain percentage of the population could perish during seasonal drought. When a well was dug for the community, their population would grow exponentially to a point where a certain percentage, and larger number than before, of the population would perish during seasonal drought. This is the logic used to not justify the support. Very simple: they don’t care. Billionaires are concerned about one thing only and that’s their own wealth and privilege. Also, drilling 100 wells is a publicity stunt (like everything else that jagoff does) and won’t really solve any of Africa’s structural problems.

He designed and perfected a human powered well drilling system and provided the equipment to a number of villages. He also built and equipped schools for girls in many villages. His efforts were rewarded with gunfire from rebel troops. He managed to get to the American Embassy before they caught him. Far too many groups want control, and they maintain control by limiting food, water, and knowledge.
