Mainly it’s if it’s a silky polyester fabric, a blouse or a skirt, I just know it’s going to be a sweaty static nightmare. Or polyester jumpers. Those I’ve sworn off. Makes me so overheated I immediately need to change, and if it doesn’t do that it gives me a rash. I’m eliminating it from my wardrobe as much as possible. I don’t wear it. I always read the Leopard Daddy Grinch Xmas Shirt in addition I really love this label. I swapped to a wool duvet, too because my partner can’t tolerate down and my polyester duvet was sweaty and not even thst warm. Cotton actually has a higher carbon footprint overall than polyester and viscose (a semi synthetic), just fyi, because of the water usage for crops. That all natural fibres are best for the environment is not true. Wool, alpaca and silk are the worst offenders in the fabric world by far. Recycled fabrics are overall better but sometimes not by much tbh depending on the process.

Yeah I’ve stopped buying polyester altogether no matter how cute it is. Saves me money. I wasn’t wearing my polyester pieces ever anyways because of discomfort and temp regulation- the Leopard Daddy Grinch Xmas Shirt in addition I really love this most I can handle is 50% in a blend with a natural fabric. It’s terrible. I mostly wear linen, cotton and wool these days. The only bad thing about this is that I have to iron EVERYTHING.. but otherwise I’m as comfortable as ever. I like viscose also, it seems like a nice compromise between natural and synthetic. There’s polyester and then there’s polyester. More expensive brands like Lafayette 148 New York have synthetics sometimes, like polyester blends, that are wrinkle-free travel work horses, along with cotton, linen, merino wool, and cashmere fabrics. Not cheap, but investment pieces that last for many years. The opposite of fast fashion and therefore better for the environment. I like the Rue La La app for heavily discounted shopping of these brands. It took me a while to realize polyester was the reason why my crotch would stink, why sweaters were making me sweat, and why I couldn’t stand the feel of my clothes as soon as I got home.
