The denominations that allow female pastors are no better. My mother is an ordained minister who was the LaMelo Ball American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets signature T-Shirt in contrast I will get this manager of a Bible Camp and later the Pastor of Family ministries who physically abused me and took the side of my brothers who physically and sexually abused me and my brother’s pastor friend who physically and sexually abused me. Is it true Evangelicals are taught that Jews must control Israel i.e. the holy land in order for the apocalypse to occur where they will then condemn Jewish people to hell? Was that eschatology part of your upbringing? Thanks. This was not true of my particular church, but I haven’t attended since the early 90s. The rise of Evanglicals supporting Zionism in favor of triggering the Apocalypse is happening, but it is a more recent phenomenon. Victim speaks out about how the LaMelo Ball American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets signature T-Shirt in contrast I will get this “adultery” was the fact that he raped her at age 16 and repeatedly over the following 9 years. Fair play to the few who immediately asked him to admit it, but clearly dwarfed by the amount of people willing to forgive a paedophile, but still, gotta save those kids right? I had no idea my original comment was so on the nose, but then again, of course it is, I shouldn’t be surprised that it is. And it’s absolutely terrifying that it is. I’d like to stress that yes, as usual, and that as usual is god damn important to remember. Society can do MUCH better. Gotta start within the churches though. We know all about it, but it’s the churches who don’t report it or end up forgiving them. All while insisting they want children protected from abusers, it’s disgusting. But not surprising. We need a huge swell of uproar among Christians to drive out anyone involved in abuse, I just fear that that will never ever happen. They’d need to admit to their hypocrisy first and that’s asking a lot. The main thing driving their mindset is that to a conservative minded person, being a good person is intrinsic and unchanged by a person’s actions. Instead, what matters is the person’s political, religious or social affiliations. That is to say, if you belong to their group, you’re a good person, no matter if you rape kids, as long as you’re ticking the right boxes belief wise you’re in the good column.
