I hurt my foot on holiday recently and was unable to get my actual shoes back on one morning – went to the Ladies and Gentlemen,Mr Conway Twitty T-Shirt and I will buy this shop next to the hotel, got them – if people on their feet all day (kitchen staff, nurses) wear them then they should be comfortable enough, right? – and I am also a convert. I could even swim in them when I couldn’t get my water shoes or fins on. If low-rise jeans can come back in fashion then there’s hope for us all! edit – I desperately wanted these, if you’re going to wear novelty foam shoes you may as well go big, but sadly they didn’t fit. I thought I would never wear or buy a pair of Crocs because, as the OP said, they look ridiculous. However, I was on holiday in San Francisco and was wearing the wrong footwear to walk around the USS Midway, and the only replacement shoes I could quickly buy were a pair of khaki Crocs. I have never looked back since buying that first pair, and I wear Crocs daily now. Odd, because I used to look at Crocs and think I wouldn’t be seen dead in them. This is the way. The only people who deride us Croc rearing fold are those who have never tried them or have a fetish for uncomfortable footwear.

I have some for gardening in. My other half practically lives in his. Doesn’t matter if he’s driving a digger, cutting down trees… if they did steel toe cap ones he’d absolutely wear them to work! But can you get them with the Ladies and Gentlemen,Mr Conway Twitty T-Shirt and I will buy this right anti slip rating and midsole protection? Also little bungs for the holes to stop concrete and oil going in lol! I think they’re great. Not quite slippers, not quite shoes. Can wear them around the house and if I just need to pop to the corner shop down from me I don’t have to put my trainers on. They are the ugliest, comfiest, most practical-for-certain-situations shoes ever. I know they are hideous but my feet feel so good in the them and they are perfect for rockpools and pebble beaches.
