The man thought Christmas trees only grew in the North Pole because of a Simpsons episode. My sister is one of the top lawyers in the country in her field. She thought that bungee rope came from the bark of the bungee tree. Went to school with a lot of kids like this. Many got full ride scholarships to places like Brown, Harvard, MIT, etc. But they couldn’t figure out basic tasks sometimes. It’s kind of fascinating. Two of the stupidest people I know are doctors. It has bothered me for a long time. Not because i think I am smart, I’m not. It’s because of how shockingly stupid these two individuals are. How can these people be so much smarter than me? It recently dawned on me (one of them just opened a practice smh) that they both have above average self-discipline. It’s kind of inspiring, really

Your wife is book smart;however, you are street smart and/or have common sense. While these aren’t mutually exclusive, sometimes people can end up solely in one category or another. I work in education and its usually the ones with Dr before their names that are the most incompetent. One of them even admitted to plagiarizing for her phd. I’ve seen many school smarts but not really that smart outside academics. I’ve seen people from Harvard but like psychopaths. But then again mental illness doesn’t discriminate Could be deliberate incompetence so that you do all the mundane daily tasks for her. My partner speaks four languages and has a PhD in Aerospace Engineering. He’s literally a rocket scientist. I always say that he can make an airplane, but he can’t make a sandwich. It’s definitely deliberate incompetence. I wondered this after photographing a phd graduation. There were two feet for the graduates to step on and a sign in front of the camera that said “Look here”. I felt like I was photographing toddlers. How can you be this smart but be so dumb? I’m pretty smart, have a master’s degree. I’m deeply Millennial. I trained at a warehouse job last week and this guy 15 years younger than me was showing us how to TIE A KNOT. It took me 10 minutes, a dozen tries, and I still looked like a complete fool. Like a toddler really fumbling with a shoelace. It was really embarrassing.
