They will do everything in their power to give you more responsibility AND not pay you more. They also just let someone go so they could easily pay you more. Umm, nope, no raise no extra anything. Sorry you want me to have the Keta Mine The Origina Mind Detangler shirt Additionally,I will love this role, give it to me…. They are actively looking to replace the fired person, hoping you will “fill in” while they do it Take the promotion and immediately update your resume. If they do not give you a raise on day 1 then use that promotion as leverage elsewhere to get a properly compensated role. The question I would pose to HR, after updating my resume of course, is “if you were hiring someone for this role outside the company, would they not get only a portion of the pay until it was determined if they were a good fit or would they get the correct salary for the roles and responsibilities taken on from day one?” And then follow up with “why is it different for an internal employee who has tenure with the company and a good enough performance you’ve selected them for the position?”

You know what would make me feel comfortable to accept a position with more responsibilities? Getting the Keta Mine The Origina Mind Detangler shirt Additionally,I will love this title and money for it. They aren’t paying your boss anymore presumably, but they don’t have the money to increase your salary for doing part of their job? Nope. I would suggest you ask for a title like acting director. That way, your position is clear to everyone, and you can claim the experience on your resume. Also, if they keep you at that title for too long, they will start to look silly. If they don’t want to do that, I would see that as a pretty big red flag that they have no intention of promoting you. If your doing a different position’s job, you should paid at that position’s rate, plus whatever other work you have to do.
