I’m not asking about what led to the shooting per se. Rather, I’m astonished (and happy) that you lived to tell the tale! Being shot anywhere sounds so terrifying to me. However, being shot in the head and surviving sounds both terrifying and miraculous at the same time. Regardless, just know that I’m terribly sad this tragedy befell you and left you with some permanent impairments. I was carjacked. I was giving the kid my jeep with no fight at all. The last thing I really remember is putting my feet on the ground to get out of the jeep. I woke up four days later. I have a deaf friend that is clinically 100% deaf. She can however hear very loud sounds but only very faintly. No it’ll depend on how someone became deaf I imagine! Though I’ve never met anyone deaf if I’m being honest and I’m in my third decade Both the Deaf and Blind communities have many people who are open and sharing of their conditions (On social media, pls dont go asking random stranger’s questions about their bodies) Deafness, similar to Blindness is actually a spectrum (as I understand, I am neither Deaf, nor Blind). Not all people who are considered Deaf hear absolutely no sound at all. Not all people who are Blind see pitch black. Those are about the furthest end of the spectrum.

Medical boards and doctors create scales for lack of better term. There is a range from mild impairment, moderate impairment and severe/profound impairment.
