What got me was the Just A Girl Who Loves Fall and Blue Devils Peanuts Cartoon Halloween shirt and I love this credit about Barry’s military honors at the end. Our protagonist who has done inexcusable things because of his own narcism got away with it again and is being praised for them. What’s the alternative? He has a mother who despises him and cares more about getting praise for putting on mediocre high school plays that her actual son. If he knew the truth about Barry, all it would do is make him feel unloved and a spawn between a psychopath and a narcissist who doesn’t love him. This way he can at least grow up thinking his dad was a hero, truly loved him, and hopefully he can go off to college a semi-functioning young adult capable of ditching Sally forever and living his own life. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, and for John, believing his father was a hero is just that and gives him a fighting chance to not end up a monster.

Just A Girl Who Loves Fall and Blue Devils Peanuts Cartoon Halloween shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Whoa, where do you get the Just A Girl Who Loves Fall and Blue Devils Peanuts Cartoon Halloween shirt and I love this idea Sally despises him? They seemed quite loving and healthy in the scene on those stairs. He says “I love you” and she outright ignored him just so she can ask if the play was actually good. Also seemed zero percent invested when he asked if he can stay out unexpectedly. Huh, I missed that she didn’t respond to his “I love you.” I’ll have to go back to check that out. That said, I thought the point of her confession to him was that she was coming around to him. She doesn’t tell him she loves him back. The point of that was to show us Sally is still flawed. She’s presumably less flawed than before. Barry prayed for redemption, he accepts his death as long as his son can live a good life. John smiling and crying is the redemption Barry prayed for. John sees him as a hero and gets a good life. My thought … he’s old enough to remember what happened. That’s A LOT for a kid to carry, “hey my dad was a murderer”. But the lesson that Barry taught John through Abe Lincoln was that people are who history paints them as, and I felt like the smile was kind of a sense of relief that he is free to remember his dad for being someone who loved him instead of having to also remember his dad for being a hit man and a cop killer. Dang Barry was laid to rest with full honors…so Jim moss thought Barry was manipulated to kill Janice…this whole story got so fucked up by Barry mentioning 250k to jim moss Fitting that Fuches was the only one that made it out okay considering how many times he comically got the shit beat out of him through the seasons.
