Your blood goes through a tube into the vials they are using, then they take the needle out and put some gauze on it and hold some pressure on it until it stops bleeding, which usually only takes a few seconds, maybe ten seconds, unless you are on blood thinners or something, in whixh case you have to hold pressure on for longer.

Ask for a butterfly needle, it’s very thin I got one yesterday, have had many. Donate blood often too. The most painful bit is pulling the bandaid off later in the day, you’ll be fine xx Pinch yourself on your bicep or forearm moderately intense for 3 seconds, then let go. That’s what it feels like. It’s nothing compared to banging your shin on the coffee table or stubbing your toe. Look away when they are about to draw your blood. A squeak when you’re poked is okay, and just keep looking away. It’s how I do it (I used work in a hospital lab). Depends how good the nurse is at it. If you’ve honestly never had one done before, don’t worry. Do mosquito bites hurt? This isn’t going to be any worse than that. Just look at a picture on the wall or something. My advice is to NOT watch them put the needle in your arm. It will seem like it hurts more if you’re looking at it. If you ask me if I take a slap on my wrist or a needle for blood work. I’d choose blood work. Modern needles are quite effective in terms of not causing pain. For me, it only started to hurt when my arm was already bruised from so many blood draws in a short amount of time (hospital). Not like, crying ow but definitely more than a pinch.
