He thought he was safe because she said the John Killer Shirt and I love this F word. It was a trap. She was feeling insecure, and instead of making her feel better about the insecurity, he made her feel worse. Yes but the problem is that it’s not about logic but feeling. This question is never(correction: rarely) asked to receive an honest answer, unless the honest answer is a positive one. Now I’m even more confused. Why even ask the question if you don’t want the proper answer to the question? All op did was say “Yes” and she got mad, but she asked… Is it even a question if the only right answer is no? As a woman, I’ve never understood this. If I ask, “Do I look good in this?”, I expect an honest answer. I like when my husband tells me, unprompted, that something isn’t flattering on me. I mean, I’m disappointed that an outfit I like doesn’t look good on me, but I would much rather find out before I leave the house than have everyone see me wearing the unflattering outfit in public and possibly laughing at me.
John Killer Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt
Probably stems from being paranoid that people make fun of me, so I would rather be told the John Killer Shirt and I love this negative stuff up front than have it sugar/coated. Most people are weird as fuck and most stuff of what they do is illogical and nonsensical. This is just another example of it. I’m not sure if it’s just a thought that’s being voiced without any additional thought put into it, or it’s a diabolical ploy to fish for compliments or in rare cases a genuine question. In 2/3 cases it’s not really a question but more of an (un)intended test. We’re just gonna pretend that asking rhetorical questions but phrasing and presenting them as genuine questions is the textbook example of emotional intelligence? I had a lot of this before I trip I took in August (2-3 nights had a more “formal” dress code for dinner). So I was at my sisters to try some clothes together with her, our mom, and my niece. A lot of the dresses I tried, I felt like I looked fat in (somewhat bad self esteem), but often they’d say that it was fine, it didn’t “hug” as tight as I thought, and so on. I tried a somewhat nice dress that belonged to my niece, and while it fit and (according to them) looked good on me, me all agreed that it wasn’t my color. It was like a brown-hazelnut like color. I might as well have been an icecream sandwich lol Always rephrase questions in a positive light so even if the response was negative half the conversation was at least positive. 50% less depressing.
