She actually takes a deposit so people don’t leave her high and dry with her booking out an appointment for someone and them canceling or not showing when she could be helping someone else. It doesn’t matter so much if she leaves the customer hanging high and dry like that because the customer is one of many, many, many… Whereas the artist is one of very few or like one. If you go through the number of times in a year for any given industry, it is very rare for the actual artist or the service provider to cancel, change or postpone and it’s no big deal most the time because they get the person in fairly quickly after that BUT if you let it go all naturally without deposits, there would be literally dozens of times if not hundreds per year where the customer forgets, changes their schedule, etc which would not only inconvenience the service provider but prevent other people on the list from getting done more quickly.. Deposits were designed 100% for the service providers and NOT for the customer.
