There is a saying “Drs are just idiots who went to med school”. My mother has cancer and after dealing with them, this seems to be true. She took one look at me, gave me some tests to run (radioactive iodine uptake, etc) and a prescription for anti-thyroid meds, and said do the test today or tomorrow (ah, the good old days when Ontario healthcare actually worked somewhat well!) and start taking the pills right away, don’t wait for results, don’t put it off, you don’t have that kind of time.
