The nurse will be in to give you more information in a minute.” And then he walked out like he’d just told me (or my husband, rather) about the weather. Thankfully, the nurse who followed was amazing and kind and very positive. Six years later, and Florence Tumorson is benign, slow-growing, but still a tu-mah (read it like Arnold in Kindergarten Cop) in my brain. I have had so many MRIs that I’m surprised I don’t stick to the fridge when I walk by it. I now blame my clumsiness on my “brain buddy” (which is bullshit; I was clumsy LONG before I had a brain tumor, but any excuse is better than “I’m a graceless ninnymuggins”).

Because that was how he made me feel in that moment. I was having intermittent issues with breathing, just felt like I wasn’t getting enough air… went to the GP to get it looked at, she checked my O2 sats, BP and heartrate and sent me straight to hospital as my symptoms suggested a potential blood clot on the lung. Spent several hours having multiple tests, all of them except my o2 sats were fine. After a few hours the issue went away (the symptoms were very intermittent). The hospital Dr came back after a while and said they couldn’t find a cause but “it is probably gastric” and prescribed gastric tablets.
