As a Florida man who grew up in a suburb of Ft. And if you’re walking or moving, you’re splashing around that water and causing the bottom of the wall erode away more and more. Once the wet sand from immediately under the top layer down to the bottom drys out from being in the sun all day, you essentially have a land slide time bomb. Dangerous especially if you just happen to be sitting when it happens Like ground water coming up from the bottom of the hole. Moist sand sticks together like clay, but wet sand flows like water. The water will start flowing up like a spring, making the very bottom of the hole get bigger than the sides if it was dug straight down. The sides now don’t have any support and cave in.

The whole beach is wet underneath.
