Like do people seriously think that shitty people just sprout out of nowhere and everyone will recognize them as shitty? Humans are complex, and that’s why it’s important we recognize when someone’s actions are harmful instead of making excuses. It’s so much easier on the Jeff Dunham Retired And Rebuild Body Contains Aftermarket Parts Shirt Furthermore, I will do this mind to disassociate and put evil in a box I guess. I swear we all vowed to never let it happen again. A spark in the woods isn’t a fire but if you don’t stamp it out it will be. I second this suggestion. My high school had a very thorough curriculum surrounding the Holocaust, but Night has stuck with me more than anything else. If you want to know, I recommend reading up and watching the Eichmann trial. I am German and I am trying to learn about what happened about once a year for a week or two. I want to understand (and I think I do by now) how we as a people could let this happen. „Banality of evil“ doesn’t begin to cover it. Eichmann (an Hoess, for that matter) are the epitome of German mentality. Square, follow the rules, be precise and punctual, no matter the cost. It was a bureaucracy taken to the insane extreme. Sometimes it still is. I recently got a letter from our IRS equivalent, informing me that I owe 50 cent back taxes for my motorbike. I’m not paying, just to see if they send a reminder. The time they put in, hell even the paper and postage must be worth more. But them’s the rules. But what happens to all the little, dutiful bureaucrats, when the government makes insane rules? You can go insane watching today’s bureaucracy in Germany. I can’t imagine what it must have been like as a German Jew living in this hellish world. Bureaucrats enforcing a criminal law must have been hell. As stated I am German, but my family wasn’t spared either. My great-granddad was a social democrat and was denounced and was supposed to be deported to Dachau. A friend with influence saved him. I am a social democrat today and have the plaque the US army government gave him in 47, to thank him for his service as mayor of his hometown. Being the only non-nazi there, the US appointed him. Makes me proud to no end. But I still want to know what happened. I still weep for all the Jewish Germans we lost back then. All stories sound read say the same thing. They loved and fought for Germany, even back in WW1. To be betrayed like that because of some delusional idiot…

It wasn’t just some delusional idiot. Millions of people went along with what was happening, and even profited from it. That’s what I’m trying to say. The guy at the Jeff Dunham Retired And Rebuild Body Contains Aftermarket Parts Shirt Furthermore, I will do this top decides the policy, and a vast bureaucracy enforces it, because they think they are duty-bound and drilled to always follow the leader. If you’re open to showing a movie I’m Still Here Holocaust Survivor Diaries can be eye opening. It’s parts of diaries written by teenagers during the holocaust. One young man wrote how his father was a composer and it curried them some favor with the guards. However, it didn’t save them. One young woman wrote about how she used to have passion for medicines. Despite the title, many of them did not survive. I think about this alot. How many talented, potentially world-changing people who had yet to accomplish amazing things (or maybe already accomplished some great things, and had yet to accomplish more) were killed in war or genocide.
