They’re changing the Jamal Murray 27 Handle The Ball professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets T-Shirt in other words I will buy this rights so that teachers are allowed to use force to remove misbehaving students from the classroom or take away objects that are disruptive etc. but essentially a kid could be a danger to other students, be dragged out and the parents would be furious and could sue the teacher for “abusing” their child by forcefully removing them from the classroom. Most schools have been enduring these situations for years but it only got attention because of the teacher’s suicide, enough attention that the government was forced to pay attention and make the changes as the public demanded. This… Korean American here. I finished elementary school before moving to US. We’ve had total respect for the teachers, maybe too much in fear of punishment. Korean society tends to go from one extreme to the other. It was too much respect and teachers were to be feared when I attended school in Korea. Now, teachers are treated with disrespect and they are NOT allowed to discipline the children in fear of lawsuits and 갑질 from parents. The teachers are not supported by administration and left to deal with the problem child/children on their own. I really hope things change for the better. And how did it change so drastically? The parents used to trust the teachers to teach their child manners and punish them if they were being bad, but those same kids who grew up now don’t trust the teachers to teach their children? I don’t understand.

What’s bothersome about this is the Jamal Murray 27 Handle The Ball professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets T-Shirt in other words I will buy this students who go through the school system with bad grades, any learning disabilities, or kids with horrible behavior. They just go through grade by grade, behaving this way and once they’ve graduated and become adults, what’s to become of these said kids? when I went to school the teachers were legally allowed to physically hit their students. It wasn’t like they could straight up punch your face or anything, but like “educational beating” on the butt with a stick or smacking your palms with a stick, things like that. This was very very common and some teachers would be known in the school to be especially harsh, so better not fuck around if they’re watching. It was a part of accepted culture and just how things worked. Yes, it was definitely a form of abuse, that’s why they made it illegal. The students respected teachers a lot more back then (mostly out of fear of consequences)
