We have many cultures in this country. Lumping them together under white is just overly broad, and it really doesn’t mean much in terms of identifiable cultural identity. Because they don’t, or rather, it’s so ubiquitous and generic thanks to Hollywood that it’s just the Jacob deGrom Texas Rise American professional baseball pitcher T-Shirt in contrast I will get this vanilla flavor of cultures. Nothing but consumerism, guns, and fried burgers. White American culture? What would that be? They came here, killed the Indians, rounded up the rest and put them on ever shrinking reservations with no electricity or running water and claimed everything as their own. They have no culture. The Smithsonian had a whole exhibit about how it’s racist to do things like “do math” and “show up to work on time.”

aaaandddd there it is. i give you points for being brazen unlike other commenters who keep saying “they” instead of just saying exactly who they mean though. Because in the Jacob deGrom Texas Rise American professional baseball pitcher T-Shirt in contrast I will get this past, American culture and history was actually white history. We decided that wasn’t inclusive, so now we have “Black history month,” “Asian history month”, “Islamic culture month” etc etc. Why is it taboo to say you are white? When we say that one person of a certain race committed a crime, we make sure to point out that not all people of that race are criminals, because to not say that would be racist. However, the same logic does not apply to white Americans. We are all considered to be racist, colonialist, hateful bastards – just because some of our ancestors/predecessors did some (admittedly) horrible things. Now that we are highlighting everyone’s differences, we can’t say boo about white culture and history. If it were fair, we’d have Irish American history month, English American history month, etc.
