They could have done this experiment with my cats. Hunger perceives time. Body is connected to the Jack Grealish homage shirt and I love this mind and spirit. You know why we perceive time as faster the older we get? It’s because when you’re older, a unit of time is a smaller proportion of the life you’ve lived. When you’re 30, a year is merely 1/30th of the existence you know. When you’re 3, a year is 1/3rd of your entire existence. That’s why a year seems to flit by when you’re old but seems like an everlasting journey when you’re young. We have a lavish urban garden on my condo balcony (username checks out whatever). The bees come every year for the nectar from our various flowers. Not only do the bees remember that our specific balcony is the flower one (they don’t go anywhere else’s) but they also come before we’ve even planted every year. It’s not the flowers attracting them… they literally come weeks before we put the new soil in and start setting up. But get this, they also seem to know what time we plant. We usually plant the first week or so in May, so they start coming like the first week in May every year. This year we had some cold snaps so we waited. I’m curious if they’ll come late next year. How were they so accurate? Humans perceive time but we aren’t accurate enough to do it every day at 4pm without a clock.

What does “perceive time” mean? Lots of living things have internal biological clocks that don’t require “perceiving” anything for it to work. This sounds dumb.
