I’d allow up to 70, and I think they’d be fine to be employed in advisory positions as there can be value in historical context and discussions around past decisions. I think All government and political positions should be 4 years max then and can’t be placed again until someone else has taken that position at least 3 times before they get a chance again. That means 12 years of waiting and wanting that spotlight you so badly want. Because some people in office just need to come back to reality and not let power go to there head. If you wanted to set it at 65, I would propose that they would have to be 65 or less by the time they serve the maximum amount of terms in their position. Since different positions have different term limits and years in that position. So in that case if it was for president, they should be no older than 57 and wouldn’t be allowed to serve a second term if not re-elected consecutively.

I realize that makes it more complicated, but it does really make sense not to have someone older than that in office. We also need term limits on most if not all elected positions.
