I’ve just become accustomed to one. I used to make the mistake of making every character I played look like me, and trying to insert myself into the game world. It was actually GTA V (I know, not an RPG) that snapped me out of doing that. It was such a blast playing the different characters. Also I like to always take advantage of a custom character creator in my games. As a woman, for decades we’ve always had to play male protagonists, but now, If I can play as a woman, I’m going to. And in most cases if it’s an RPG w different romance choices, I’ll make a guy too and play it differently Next time through. For men though, I know a lot of them “can’t emphasize” with female characters which is silly because women have had to always do that with the mainstream male protagonist domination in the industry Oh no, digital black face detected!While the question was rethorical, i will answer anyways. I like to roleplay as myself because i like putting myself in the shoes of my character, that is easier when the character looks and acts (through diologue or actions) like me.
