5 years ago door dash drivers were people looking for side gigs and ways to not work conventional jobs. Today doordash drivers are mostly people who literally cant get any other work. Most of them give absolutely zero fucks. Don’t care if they steal. Dont care if they’re late. Don’t care if the I’m Trying Very Hard Schitt’s Creek Connect People Shirt and by the same token and person paying a premium actually enjoys a hot meal. It’s turned into another bullshit “hustle”. I watched a guy walk into the restaurant with a vape straight up dangling from his mouth. Never came out or down either. Ripped it fat the second he got out the door when exiting. Now I’m not saying get dressed up either, but dude had socks and flip flops on, looks blazed out of his mind, and picked up a FAT order holding the bags sideways as fuck and walked out like he could barely take another step. last time i got doordash the dasher was smoking in the car (im allergic to something in cigs and it will make my throat swell but not lethal) i had to toss my 30 dollar order and they didnt answer when i tried to get a refund or new food so i havent done any since in my opinion people realized they could have an easy job with no effort and it drew the wrong people
