I feel like when (AND I PRAY WHEN) She comes back, that she knows strategy? Gurl woulda swept if she thought otherwise in my opinion. Conservatives don’t want to admit it, though, since drag is intrinsically linked to the I’m Not Lazy I’m Just Conserving Energy Cat T-Shirt and I love this queer community, and they want to hate us, so they need to hate drag, even if it means ignoring their faves who are doing it. For some reason a lot of queer people just don’t like allies, especially country singers. When Maren was on drag race and she was apologizing for most country singer’s views, a lot of people ik were annoyed but as someone from the country and grew up with that music, I needed to hear that and ik other people from the countryside and/or the south was touched I feel like some queer people are unfamiliar with Kelsea and Maren and therefore haven’t seen how much they consistently speak up in the country scene despite getting shit on by their peers. So when they see one thing they assume it’s insincere

So many drag race fans were like who tf is Maren when Maren has been public enemy number one to country bigots for a while True, but country music and southern culture in general isn’t progressive at all, and idk I find it weird getting offended towards someone apologizing for those bad people Well I’m not a country music fan and honestly don’t like it. But idk why I would mind artists of any kind, making statements in support of queer people and arts. I can understand being cautious of allies, though, as a queer immigrant poc, some of the I’m Not Lazy I’m Just Conserving Energy Cat T-Shirt and I love this strongest allies will turn on you without a thought when convenient for them and join in the discrimination. But this is a tv event, not a workplace or something like that, so I don’t see this singer doing that.
