Many of us were fucking astounded that what appeared to be reasonably intelligent people, were fucking ignorant to all of recent human history. Never has there been a period of time when just nothing happens. The only certainty is change, the only unknowable variable is when. So why the fuck they were dead certain that nothing would change for x years, and so many others believed them, will always remain a mystery to me. Cause real estate is a massive industry and they pushed the narrative in the media which was supported by home owners and investors. There wasn’t really anywhere else safe to put your money anyway. No capital gains and banks lending to anyone inflated it.
