Or is it something about you and your performance? I think it’s a combination of things. I think that pipeline as well as revenue is not reaching expected goals at my organization. That leads me to believe they’re trying to reduce headcount where they can. Funny enough, I asked for a raise about 6 months ago and they even showed me a promotion plan about a month ago! It’s possible I’m on the chopping block because they don’t want to work towards promoting me. The other part of it is that I’ve had 4 managers in 2 years, and when I started this position, it was a very different set of expectations than the ones that were laid out in the performance improvement plan that I was presented with.

A few weeks ago, my manager asked me about my workload and mentioned she was talking to HR. I immediately asked why HR would be involved in that and if I should be concerned. She said not to worry and I told her that I felt like my workload was justified, she did not refute that opinion.
