I worked more than 10 jobs over 40 years. I can tell you that no amount of money or benefits are worth your mental health. Be proud. You’re young, you’ll find another job. Sounds like you’re very qualified. (Hiring manager was probably intimidated) Honestly, I wish I did what you did. During my interview at my current job my intuition told me that I probably won’t vibe with the I’m A Dad Grandpa And Veteran Nothing Scares Me American Flag T-Shirt In addition,I will do this hiring manager as we spoke. Turns out, I was correct. Now am having a horrible time haha If the manager is rude and annoying, that is the gold standard for the company. He is setting that example. And that was him on his best behavior, in front of a stranger, when he was acting professionally. I have two managers who have rubbed the department the wrong way for the past 2 years: telling us to thank them for things that are in their job descriptions, refusing to respond to emails until we’ve run the question by 3 other colleagues, demanding things instead of simply asking. The kicker was scheduling mandatory training after our contract and not offering compensation, rather, “switching out those days for days of our choice.” I’m a teacher. “Days of my choice” are, in fact, the full summer my contract promised me. 25% of our department is leaving.

They moved to another manager. They weren’t as great but I was able to work with them. The third team they moved to was a nightmare, I had nothing but issues, they never listened and whenever I try to suggest solutions they just ignored them. I was so bad that I gave them 4 day notice. I was in your exact same situation 3 years ago but I accepted the job. Then left It after a month because I hated everything there Just went through almost the exact same scenario and the hiring manager (my supervisor) was just a walking red flag and knew it would be a bad work environment so I turned it down as well. Some things are more important to me than pay and benefits. You made the right call
