Rockstar is smart how they release pc ports a year later. It kinda sucks for fans but It gives a well polished game Performance on a recent GPU… no. The port quality would be gauged at release with GPUs out at the If You Don’t Like It Stop It If You Can’t Stop It Admire It Enjoy The Show shirt and I love this time. You can’t take a game years later on current hardware and say “this is how it should be done” I’ve just started my first playthrough of this game, and man, it is gorgeous. I am honestly impressed how well it runs granted though from what i remember, it was a bit of a mess during when the game first launch or at least that’s what I saw on YouTube as well as steam. It’s great to see it in an optimized state and can’t wait to experience even more of what this game has to offer.

Don’t tell this to r/PCRedDead. The majority of that sub is working out what settings destroy your framerate for no reason, and figuring out various crashes and issues with utilizing VRAM that Rockstar hasn’t fixed. I’ve run into several myself. This game was poorly optimized when it launched and you are playing it 5 years later with a GPU that should be overkill for it. 100 fps doesn’t sound like “peak optimization” in my book. Peak Optimization should give you 144 steady fps at max settings. You should take a look at RE Engine games or doom games. Also Rockstar has history of badly optimized PC games. Playing GTA4 on PC without a fan made patch is almost impossible. My guy this game is from 2018, the If You Don’t Like It Stop It If You Can’t Stop It Admire It Enjoy The Show shirt and I love this ps5 came out in 2020. It was running at 30 fps on the current gen consoles. If I’m being frank a 5 year old game should run amazingly on modern hardware. I honestly can’t believe I can play this on steam deck and it still looks good and runs smoothly. Never in a million years would have thought RDR2 could be played on a hand held RDR2s performance is decent for sure, but I couldn’t run 60fps consistent maxed out in 1440p, on 2080Ti system back in 2018. “In order to get close to 60 FPS at 1080p Full HD, you need a GeForce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700 XT. 1440p@60 is reserved for NVIDIA gamers using the RTX 2080 Super or RTX 2080 Ti. AMD’s flagship, the Radeon VII, achieves only 54 FPS at that resolution. For 4K at 60 FPS, you’ll have to wait for next-gen hardware or dial down the settings —the RTX 2080 Ti reached 45.5 FPS, and SLI isn’t supported.”
