Both people on the I get my attitude from my freakin’ awesome dad born in April shirt and I love this left and people on the right are of course inherently of the opinion that the status quo is not good the way it is. However, it could of course be argued that if you’ve got people on both sides of the political spectrum whose opinions you disagree with tell you that a position supporting the status quo is bad, this could also be indicative of the current status quo being right up your ally. its boring, and often supports the status quo. Mix in a bit of realpoltik and you have some terrible moral compromises. If you’re a centrist, by definition you don’t believe anything. You just choose whatever is between two arbitrarily points on a line that you’ve picked and that you will happily change if the conversation shifts to such a degree that you no longer are in the center. I’ve never met a centrist who could articulate a firm belief structure, only people who claim that they are more correct because most people disagree with them generally.

if your values are in the I get my attitude from my freakin’ awesome dad born in April shirt and I love this middle, they’re in the middle, but “neutrality in times of oppression is not neutrality, it’s choosing the side of the oppressor”. additionally you have a bunch of pricks who are not centrist but say they are because they don’t want to be labeled (generally right leaning but not universally) Cuz both sides are cults with multiple levels of radical. The middle was forced into the right by this administration and I can’t wait for the day people don’t look republican for not agreeing with the left. I wanted RFK and I’m not a fan of Trump but you say anything negative about biden and they talk about Trump. I make it clear that if I have to pick it’s Trump over Biden, so they assume I love Trump lmao
