That’s what I’d be worried about! I’d spend all day checking to make sure it was off or worrying that it was actually on but the I Don’t Care What Anyone Thinks Of Me Except Dogs I Want Dogs To Like Me shirt But I will love this app was telling me it’s off! I worry about that with the smart thermostats too, someone raising or lowering the temperature to crazy levels. I have a lot of anxiety and an overactive imagination, it’s better if my appliances just sit there until I push buttons on them. I have a “Smart oven” only because I had to get a new one, and it was the only one in my price range. And if it makes you feel any better, the “smartness” about it is near useless. I can’t turn it on Mobily, but I can turn it off. And I flick the oven light on and off. Oh and it tells me when it done preheating.

Other than that though nothing. I’d definitely never go out of my way to get smart devices, but so many new appliances just have them as default now. We’re looking at getting a dishwasher and so many have wifi and remote capabilities. What good is remote capabilities? If I’m not home, I can very well remote load it, so what goo is turning it on? I can see that being useful if you invite someone to dinner at the I Don’t Care What Anyone Thinks Of Me Except Dogs I Want Dogs To Like Me shirt But I will love this last minute while you’re not home, only to realize you haven’t done dishes recently and need something that’s in there if you’re going to cook everything in time. Which is the kind of thing that probably doesn’t happen to most people a whole lot, but I have had it happen once or twice before. I feel like that’s the issue with a lot of smart appliances. It’s not that I can’t think of reasons they’d be useful, it’s just that a lot of those uses are so rare that the added cost doesn’t quite justify the extra features for me.
