I just got over a bacterial eye infection that I think it was caused by my Kosas concealer ??? Honestly, washing your hands before using them for anything is always a good practice anyways. I do that with moisturizers, makeup, blabla. I don’t do it post-shower though since I’m already clean. One of my Elf products came with a teeny tiny spatula and I just keep that out and use it for whatever cream products I have now. Easy to keep clean after every use. Just take a tiny bit out and then use a brush or sponge, whatever you apply them with. But like the commenter above, I don’t think even just using clean hands is an issue. Shop Miss AOA is an inexpensive makeup web store. Their makeup sponges are really good and underrated. Robert Welsh says he has a bag full of them. Almost everything is around $1 on their site. I think even though they might be based in China they have a distribution center in the States because my last order had an American return address and I got it in about 4 days.

I break out in sarcasm skull shirt Additionally,I will love this pro MUA who recommended scraping a little out with a palette knife or similar. Put it on the back of your hand then apply to your face. When I used to be an MUA, I would also lightly mist my open products (cream and pressed powder) with 99% alcohol every so often. i haven’t had any issues with it. i think if you are applying with clean hands on clean skin you should be fine 🙂 I’ve had the Elf putty blush for about 6 months? I use my fingers and haven’t had an issue with it. I wouldn’t do that if I was like, sharing it with someone but for personal use i don’t think it’s a big deal as long as your hands are clean. Every once in a while I use a clean paper towel to wipe off a top layer of the cream products lol. Not like digging into it and wasting the product, just the top layer to “clean it up” ig. Idk if it does anything haha just makes me feel better about using them bc it takes me FOREVER to get through most makeup products
