Reminds me of the I am a grumpy veteran I served I sacrificed I don’t regret I don’t care home of the free veteran shirt but in fact I love this youtube prank couple where the wife accidentally killed the husband while shooting a video because the husband thought the book he was holding in front of his chest would stop the bullet. Which is REALLY stupid by itself, but made more stupid by the fact they used a .50 Desert Eagle for it. I recall a case years ago where a couple checked into a hotel and found a mutilated body in the room (it was a mock up). One of the pranksters played a hotel security guard who kept them in the room, and they recorded the increasingly frantic couple as they were forced to hang around with the body. I believe this train wreck of a prank ended up in a tremendous monetary settlement.Finally, the suit says, Kutcher entered the room and revealed the prank, which was part of a pilot for his show, called ”Harassment.” Kutcher has described the show, which has yet to debut on MTV, as a ”guerilla ‘Candid Camera,”’ Reuters says. Wow, the show was even called “Harassment.” It’s like they created a show with the purpose of getting a massive lawsuit. Also, I didn’t realize Kutcher was such a huge asshole to think that was okay.

I like to think he’s grown a lot since then. His work protecting vulnerable people from human trafficking is impressive and I kind of have to respect him based on that alone. Yeah at first I was like wow what a dick move (and it is) but it was also 20 years ago. Edgy shit was very in vogue back then too. Still. The girl did express doubts but let him talk her into it… Of course it’s still her responsibility, but they had shot the I am a grumpy veteran I served I sacrificed I don’t regret I don’t care home of the free veteran shirt but in fact I love this gun at a book of the same type before and it had stopped the bullet. I’m guessing they didn’t consider that a loose book would absorb more kinetic energy (by flying off) than one that’s being held steady. Honestly, the number of unaccounted-for components that could change the bullet penetration here are unfathomable. Anything from the type of paper used, to the type of cover, to the angle of the gun barrel, to the angle of the held book, to the firmness of the holder’s grip, to the recoil effect. And that’s just off the top of my head.
