Tbh I don’t have a problem with people who oppose ulez, if that’s what you think then that’s your right. But it has to be for a valid reason, not based on their imaginary friends problems or dog whistle hatred for sadiq khan. Unfortunately I’m yet to see many sensible arguments against it. So why are we penalising the I am a Grumpy Tow Truck Operator if this offends you don’t care shirt and I will buy this poorest 5% with an old car, when other factors such as single occupancy leisure driving (by the wealthier drivers) cause congestion which in turn causes more polluting vehicles to be stuck stationary on the road? Or maybe if the roads were improved to prevent stationary traffic there would have been a more effective reduction in pollution? Just an update but it’s 96.4% of cars detected in outter London are now compliant, not sure about inner london but I assumed that would be higher. Since any petrol car from the end of 2005 is compliant, so any made in the past 18 years, plus a bunch before that, I’m pretty sure it’s mostly just vans that are non compliant now.
