The “just Bluetooth” thing has dissuaded me from Hue. We ended up buying Sylvania’s Smart+ wifi bulbs which have been very dependable for us – since 2020. Though we don’t ask much of them – A few scheduled on/offs, some color schemes, etc. We aren’t using voice command or Alexa/Google integration either, so I can’t speak about that implementation. We turn most of them on/off at the switch. The only major downside I can come up with is they only work on 2.4ghz. Which works out for us, I keep a separate vLAN for IoT devices, what else would I be using the 2.4ghz antenna for at this point? I got mine in 2017, two of the bulbs in my ceiling fan have a slightly different color temp from the third. Still very satisfied with them. I mainly use them with the white settings but overnight I have them dim into a dim red/orange as a night light. Not including the small variations that developed over the years, no hiccups or glitches. Mine are also the pre-bluetooth era ones, so they need the hub and all to work and communicate.

Nope. That’s why the I am a august girl was born with my heart fire in my soul control shirt it is in the first place but only smart bulbs I have left are in my bedroom ceiling because I use them as a sunrise alarm (Full disclosure, I do have other Govee products that I like. But I’ve thrown away all the Meross, Cync and EcoSmart ones.). Maybe they changed it over the years, but with the built in “daylight/wake” timer they actually start like dim blue before brightening to white. Looking into getting some smart switches myself. Was looking at a Hue setup for the house, but with how crazy the prices are, it makes WAY more sense to just go with smart switches… They’re nice for lamps that aren’t connected to a switch or hard to reach one’s. They’re not good as a replacement for normally wired lights. We recently moved in newly refurbished flat and the landlord has installed the smart lights, it was interesting at first but now.. the times I go to the bathroom and try to get the light on and it just won’t work because of Internet, the same for heating.. app sometimes works , sometimes doesn’t.. smart my a$$ My smart bulbs all work just fine. Did you landlord install Hue or Lifx lights? They both tend to work amazingly well. Also, if the Internet goes down, smart lights just turn into regular old lightbulbs. Meaning you would need to do the same behaviors as you would if you had regular light bulbs. Like flipping the light switch.
