Gordon is fantastic and so is the House MAndalorian We Don’t Make Threats We Make Promises Shirt in addition I really love this casting choice for Penguin. Tone of the movie is superb. Lighting, cinematography, etc. You can tell a lot of thought went into presentation. Overall, a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. I wouldn’t rewatch soon, but I definitely will in the future. I have a feeling this movie will age well and my score will improve. I wish I could say I loved it as much as everyone else but idk… it felt like it was missing something that I can’t quite put my finger on. I really didn’t feel much at all. Need to see it again to see if my opinion changes. Robert Pattinson went from being a vampire to being a bat I found the movie close to perfection. Likely taking the throne of my favorite comic book based movie. Also I did find it better realized than the dark knight. Pattison unsurprisingly was exceptional and conveyed a broken character trying to reconnect with a world he feels he might not a have place in beautifully. Paul Dano while was mostly incredible, some aspects of his performance didn’t completely land for me. I say that believing he is also one of the greats working day. The characters all had great chemistry and played off each other very organically. The movie itself was rich in imagery and atmosphere, and it hit all the notes I was looking for. There was a few scenes that I think could have been done differently, but other than that it was a borderline masterpiece.

Just to nit pick something; I find it irritating that in a movie that tries to make everything as grounded in reality as it can it still features a shotgun that operates like a bazooka. Wasn’t a fan of the House MAndalorian We Don’t Make Threats We Make Promises Shirt in addition I really love this heavy red color palette they used throughout the movie but I guess they went with it for the whole vengeance theme. The last scene is significantly more blue in tone so I’m hoping the next movie follows up with that palette because that just makes the movie feel more Batman to me. One major plight Batman faces is the fact nobody should be above the law, everybody should be held accountable by a justice system which is already in place, batman shouldn’t exist in the eyes of the law because who is he to judge right and wrong? This move perfectly encapsulates this idea with an outstanding performance from Paul Dano, the ending reveal that he thought him and Batman were partners enacting justice together really proves exactly why vigilanteism is wrong. The riddler in reality didn’t target anybody who didn’t deserve it, but he murdered people instead of beating them within an inch of their life.
