There are pacing issues, but that’s hard to remedy in a 3-hour film. I’m definitely not a fan of the Disney And Mets Baseball Kinda Girl Shirt in contrast I will get this monologuing narrative at the beginning of the film. A lot of that can be shown rather than told. e.g. Pattinson describes why criminals fear the dark, and goes on for a minute about it. I think that could have just been scrapped and just kept the scenes where criminals see the bat signal and then glance fearfully into the darkness, just for nothing to emerge, to build into the paranoia aspect. The build up in the movie and pay off was good, but not fantastic. I felt moments where it was going to be fantastic, but then was left just a teeny disappointed. It’s still well executed, just didn’t hit as hard as I hoped in some moments. I had less interest in the Catwoman arc and the romance felt pushed onto us.

Riddler felt overly acted in a serious film. A little too eccentric. I think if he toned it down a little and didn’t scream as much it would have felt more strong. I like the Disney And Mets Baseball Kinda Girl Shirt in contrast I will get this actor in other roles, just was too much in this one. I think the world building is absolutely fantastic and the score is amazing. That four note motif of Batman emerging from darkness will never get old. The scene with Penguin flipped upside down in the car and Batman walking towards him slowly is glorious. I do wish they didn’t show all the cool moments in the trailer, though. Pattinson is a good Batman. Not a great Wayne, but that might be on purpose as his character begins to realize the importance of maintaining his façade as Wayne. Well-timed comedy (something DC has a problem with). In a rather serious film, they somehow make the comedy work extremely well. The dark humor is well executed and so are some of the dad jokes.
