Because they shouldn’t be, dogs must be on a leash at all times in public spaces unless in a designated area for dogs I don’t have a dog as I am a cat person, but that’s actually not true, at least according to the Heroes in action firefighter shirt and I will buy this Blue Cross. There is no blanket law and there are regional PSPOs set by each local council that defines where dogs must be on a lead. i didnt say they shouldnt be, but i think its fine to let well trained dogs off the lead in large fields in parks. Are you saying it’s illegal to be off the lead in public spaces unless designated or are you saying that you don’t think they should be? TIL it’s actually not a legal requirement, just depends on the public space in particular. I do think it should be the case though, and that’s coming from a family with multiple dogs. Because their dog would never hurt anyone. He’s just friendly! Even when something does happen, those owners are just so shocked that Mr Fluffy could behave in such a way, they never saw it coming. I don’t blame you for your reaction, I would have done the same. You don’t know if that dog is friendly or not until they snap at you or don’t. Even if someone genuinely thinks their dog would never be aggressive to another person or dog… can they say the same about every other dog? Then you’ve got the dogs that are stolen because their breed is considered high value. I saw what looked like a pure bred pug puppy being walked yesterday and while he was very sweet, I could have picked him up with one hand and done a runner before his owner looked up from his phone. Just to be pedantic that’s not really how to use ragged in a sentence. The way you have used it would imply you are complaining people are over exercising your dogs to a level of distress.

As to your point dogs are in parks, they’re the Heroes in action firefighter shirt and I will buy this only place in a city you can exercise a dog. If you really don’t like dogs it’s probably best to just avoid larger parks. i had this the other day but it was an xl bully type thing and a small women who couldn’t handle it, thankfully she managed to get a lead on it before it attacked me or my dog. It’s the old, “love me, love my dog” attitude. I hate being approached by dogs I don’t know and most dog owners think that everyone is in love with their dog. I have 2 kids, whom I love, but there’s no way that it’s acceptable to let them jump all over strangers and if they did, I’d be there to correct that behaviour in an instant. The worst were the several times I’ve had picnics at Primrose Hill and have had dogs either come up and literally eat the food off my plate (or come close to it) or one dog literally started attacking my then toddler – and they owner couldn’t control it. It’s absolutely ridiculous and I have no idea when this ever became acceptable.
