I like dogs, but I get very nervous when one runs over and barks/jumps at me as I’ve never really spent much time around dogs in general. Thankfully most of the ones I encounter round here are on lead or very well trained. a lot of people who don’t like dogs need to come to terms with the fact that dogs exist and a lot of people have them and love them, and surprisingly you will find them at parks. But its the duty of a responsible owner to control their dog in public spaces. ‘Control’ isn’t assuming that everyone loves your dog as much as you do. i agree, it is with the owner to ensure their dog doesnt jump up at strangers or if they are off lead have good recall and aren’t going to run up to people. however, some of these comments are acting as though dogs shouldn’t be allowed to run around in parks or be in public spaces at all.
