Ew. That’s terrible behaviour and frankly I’ve not come across such outright derogatory nonsense in professional contexts. Sad to see such things happening in professional spaces. What’s the He is my best friend my shoulder to lean the love of my life mechanic shirt But I will love this use of all those ethics trainings given in corporate when people tend to be ignorant anyway. The irony of this not a single one has even complained to HR Wonder where all the hr sessions on COC, POSH etc go ? If it was my company by the time you had a good laugh at it and ended the meeting. Would have an email in my inbox for termination. Not so fun anymore.. UP people doesn’t have any touch with outside India till they are adults. They didn’t even have talked to a Punjabi all their teenagers. So the ignorance/audacity comes from there. People from East India especially from UP/Bihar should be teaching professional lingo before entering into workforce.

you see a lot of posts by northies saying i got beaten up/ mugged/ drugged/ kicked for not being a local or not being able to speak kannada, with stories that are more unrealistic and out of the He is my best friend my shoulder to lean the love of my life mechanic shirt But I will love this world than a kannada serial storyline, and you see the comments where locals grieve and feel sad for them. but in this comment, where even OP has decided to share the companys name in DM’s, these northies are saying its fake and unbelievable. guys dont be surprised if in the coming few days, you see a post saying, i got hit/kicked/mugged/beaten/impregnated for not speaking kannada or not being a local. P.S. I’m a north Indian, and I feel similar exclusion when Kannadigas speak in Kannada instead of English, or other south Indians speak in their native language with north Indians present. If people change over to English while you’re present, they do it out of an excess of empathy, and that’s a very nice thing. They don’t owe you that though. No?
