Even things like simple diarrhoea could be avoided by understanding the baby’s body. I don’t blame them they had no one to teach them. Glad paediatricians today help parents out and there’s wealth of information on the internet that we’re able to raise babies better by making informed decisions. My dad verbally abused me and then gave me the silent treatment for two weeks when I told him I wanted to study languages instead of sciences, saying that I’d end up as a poor Spanish teacher. We’re on good terms now but it’s a pain I will never really get over because I know that he’ll never truly approve of me. Ofc I want my kids to be comfortable but it’s a myth that only STEM courses lead to successful careers and there’s NO POINT in forcing yourself into a career you don’t want and ending up miserable. We don’t “own” kids, they’re people in their own right and, unless they’re completely confused and want help deciding, parents shouldn’t have a place in such decisions.

Not spoiled and can share if asked. Actually acknowledging their mental health , not pushing them to do stuff they don’t want or like , and letting them form their own opinion I have a 20yo son and 18yo daughter I’ve never laid hands on and couldn’t be more proud of. My parents were out of my life by 17; my kids still live at home while they go to college and ask me to go out and spend time with them doing cheesy stuff like mini golf and bowling.

I didnt beat my kids mother up infront of my child or at all actually. I tried not to but i kinda lost the Harris walz 2024 save democracy Election red stars T-Shirt besides I will buy this plot trying to be the absolute best dad mum i could that could provide be there for him and try and make him good but i failed miserably Don’t even know where to begin but…..I will NEVER give my kids the silent treatment. That fkd me up pretty bad. Being violent, verbally abusive, screaming, crying psychopaths that never listened to anything and essentially ruined my life before I could even get it started. Just a constant, burdensome source of negative energy and pain. Having any at all. I am surgically sterilized and if that somehow fails before menopause I’m a Canadian with access to safe, legal abortions.
I couldn’t have children, but I swore that if I did, I would never say, “I don’t care,” when they asked me if they could do something. It’s so demoralizing to hear that from a parent. I’ve felt fear and pain since day 1. Well behaved, never cried, screamed, or touched anything unnecessary when I was under 6 years old.
