The important part is discovering what meditation is instead of doing 10 minutes everyday not knowing what you are doing. A huge shift started happening when I realized that silencing the Halonic Hooters Ishgard shirt also I will do this thoughts was not the goal and that seeing meditation as a skill was another manifestation of egoic desire. It’s something I continue to struggle with reframing. I started a serious meditation practice about three months ago. I’m also a recent widower which puts me into a traumatic state of grief. I also believe that if in these states of spiritual chaos one can have some astounding or quicker realization of some states. Such has been my experience. After many weeks of trying hard, and in a serene state of meditation, I had a realization about my wife, death, and her soul/self. This event actually felt like a distraction of the meditative state, but was followed, by wakeful Bliss, new knowledge, I can’t explain it beyond that.

After that experience, it then became extremely hard to reach even a mild meditative state. It’s as if myself said oh no you don’t. But I kept trying. I’ve also spoken with friends I’ve made in seeking assistance with meditation who have had a sincere practice for decades. The benefits that the Halonic Hooters Ishgard shirt also I will do this meditation brings them, enhances their every day, life, their calm state of serenity, and simply of the thought process. The training of our awareness, to see what is before us clearly with no disguise. That I think is the goal of meditation for Lay people. The way you described it reminds me of my struggles with mental health as a child. The harder you fight it the harder it fights back. In my opinion, the true way to overcome your ego isn’t to actively fight it- but rather to accept it. It sounds counterintuitive- but I do believe that when one actively tries to achieve a lesser ego- that desire to achieve it in the first place is only making it harder (The buddhism in me is coming out haha). What do you think it means to get good at meditation? Do you think it means that the brain starts working in some magical way where all thoughts settle down and you are left with only peace? What do you think the process is that will take you there?
