Lived in all of them for a month and felt fine, very similar to BA. Cordoba being the sketchiest if I had to choose one. We stayed in Guemes neighbourhood and it was a great choice. But a few people warned us about nearby neighbourhoods we avoided I live in Guemes for almost 3 years now (I’m Dutch!). I actually live in the street with all these bars and clubs. There’s a neighborhood behind the canal that’s dangerous at night, but the street with all these bars, clubs and galleries that’s very safe! Love it! Very crowded at night, lots of music and many international and national tourists. Been to all the ones you mentioned. They’re all safe. Mendoza and Salta in particular are safer than Buenos Aires.

I’d also say Buenos Aires is safe, especially by Latin American standards. You shouldn’t flash money around and phone grabs happen sometimes (never seen one), but it’s not like Rio or Medellín or something. I don’t carry a burner phone or worry about ordering an Uber inside a building vs. outside. I honestly wouldn’t say Buenos Aires is remarkably different from NYC, Chicago, LA, Barcelona, or London in terms of precautions.
