Never saw or heard of the Godzilla world destruction tour horror shirt besides I will buy this commercial so I guess 41M didn’t go very far. It was a coin that was a solution to a non existent problem made even less problematic as debit card use kicked into high gear and all the gas stations got pay at the pump. They ended up in Ecuador. My wife and I went in 2017. They use the American dollar for their money and all the vending machines and change from purchases are these coins. If you want to make a change, you have to remove options. The US government should stop making the penny and the dollar bill. Problem solved. Coins used to have actual value to purchase real things. But inflation changed that. Introducing a dollar coin is an attempt to push back. It seems logical, but the question is, is that a good thing?

I suspect this might have had more success if it was done farther in the Godzilla world destruction tour horror shirt besides I will buy this past. But even in the early 2000s, credit cards were (almost) everywhere. It wasn’t really necessary to deal with paper money and coins if you didn’t want to. I don’t think the issue was so much coins fighting against paper (though, that was part of it) – it was mostly credit cards fighting against cash. My Sister used to work at a cafe in British Columbia, near the American border, and they used to make insane tips because if the Americans were leaving for the States after the meal they’d dump all their loose change into the tip jars. I spent a summer in Oregon in 2004 and these dollars made my Canadian heart so happy. The transit system kept giving them as change and I happily spent them … but a lot of cashiers weren’t happy about it. There was a couple of glorious years where you could buy these online from the mint using a credit card and just pay shipping. So you could order a few thousand dollars in coins, pay the shipping costs, put the coins in your account, and get all the miles/points for it.
