Happened to me as a child as well, around when I was 4-7 years old I had a step-dad from Holland. He would make me sit at the gameshow band T-Shirt it is in the first place but table till I finished every last bite even if I hated it. He would get really angry and get his face really close to mine and shout at the loudest he could at times. My whole body would vibrate, my ears would hurt bad, and my heart would beat so hard and fast it felt like it was about to explode out of my chest. Eventually I learned to force it all down even when I was full so as not to anger him. Now I never waste anything and clean my plate even when I dislike the food, out of habit. But I always tell whoever I’m cooking for or taking care of to just eat whatever they can and if they don’t like it I could make them something else etc.

Also that guy was really weird and would even crunch on and swallow the gameshow band T-Shirt it is in the first place but bones from steaks and porkchops, usually while staring at me in silence while monitoring my plate. The sound still haunts me, can’t get rid of it. For real. My parents did this and its so hard to have a plate of food and not finish it all! I have such an unhappy relationship with food too because of this. I was an active child and ate everything in front of me. I was always hungry. But I remember this one time we had dinner so early. I just was not hungry because it was too close to lunch, I had to sit at the table for hours and I never ate it. I hated that so much. I just wasnt hungry! I dont do that to my kids. I get my kids a plate of food, except my older, he can get his own. but they dont to have to eat everything. They need to have a few bites of the main meal and the veggies or sides and then they can be done. Even just one bite is fine. But if they arent hungry enough for dinner, I limit the snacks they can have because it means they are eating too many bad things before dinner and not enough of the good things at dinner. My kids are healthy and normal weights. And I dont let them have dessert if they didnt eat enough. (Like atleast a bite or two of everything). because I know my kids, if they didnt eat dinner, then they ate too many snacks. And if they arent hungry for dinner, they arent hungry for dessert.
